A Collaborative Program of Become BEST

School-Alternative Program

Phoenix Academy is a special education service provider and Day Treatment Center. This means that we can formally provide your childs educational services in-center, adjacent to their center-based ABA services. Day Treatment enrollment requires that your childs IEP team has determined that a Separate School placement will best fit their needs.

Children who are enrolled in Day Treatment at Evoke Behavioral Health may be placed by their school district if that child is not able to receive the support needed for success within their neighborhood school classroom. We are also able to support and supplement Home Schooling curricula for students who are currently homeschooled.

We utilize a variety of data-based curricula to create an educational plan that is tailored to fit your childs needs. The academic areas we prioritize include (but are not limited to) functional communication, group participation skills, independent work, math, reading, technology, and problem-solving.

parent training

Parenting children with unique needs doesn't come with a handbook! Evoke Behavioral Health offers parent training personalized to your

family's needs and values. This course includes (but is not limited to):

 Basics of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA): why and how it works.

 From Hectic House to Happy Home: helping you find long term, effective solutions to challenging behavior in the home setting.

 To Costco or Not to Costco?: Addressing challenging behaviors in the community, grocery store, doctors office, and more.

 Enhance your Environment: free resources, visual guides, charts and graphics that promote independence and communication

throughout your child's life.

 The Village: Helping you identify everything from service providers and educational supports to date-night babysitters and

special-needs friendly employers to build your army of resources

Early Start Autism Program

Evoke Behavioral Health & Early Start Autism Program serves children ages 2-6 years old who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or a related Developmental Disability. Our ESA Program is play-based and individualized while remaining data-based and effective. Staff ratios are 1:1 throughout the day, and both full-day options and half-day options are available based on the child's specific needs.

In our ESA Program, your child will work on the essential skills needed to connect and communicate with those around them. These skills include Functional Communication (using choice boards and picture icons to communicate their needs, responding to his or her name, babbling, words and language development, responding to age-appropriate instructions), Social Skills (learning play routines and
expanding interests, sitting in a group for circle time routines, interacting with same- aged peers), and self-regulation (calming and coping strategies, learning appropriate replacement behaviors for challenging behavior, knowing when and how to take abreak).

When parents first hear that their child has been diagnosed with Autism, they may feel lost, confused, relieved, upset, or a combination of all of the above. Become BEST can help parents connect with a support system as well as help families navigate through the endless options of services, insurance, waivers, schools, and the like. Research shows that intensive early intervention services provide the best chance of
prolonged success and independence later in life for young children diagnosed with, or at risk of, Autism Spectrum Disorder. We're here to walk you through that process when you're ready.

Center-Based ABA Therapy

Become BEST’s Clinic-Based ABA program serves children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The program utilizes the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and the power of positive reinforcement to help build important skills and decrease challenging behavior. Within our ABA program, the staff to client ratio is 1:1 and we serve ages 2-17

Our ABA programs target specific skills to develop with your child that will serve as building blocks for their success as they age and grow. Communication, learner readiness, self-help, executive functioning, social and play skills are all an integral part of the program and critical for each child's development.

Referral

& Review

Process

Completion of this form initiates the referral process to Phoenix Academy. Please note that submission does not guarantee placement. Each application is reviewed by our admissions and clinical team, and the referring school or agency will receive a response within seven (7) school days.

Phoenix Academy is committed to partnering with districts to ensure the best possible match between each student’s needs and the level of support our clinic-based model provides.

Referral Authorization Agreement

Referrals to Phoenix Academy, a program of Become BEST, may be initiated by a school district, IEP team, or educational agency when a student’s needs indicate benefit from a clinic-based educational setting.

All referrals must be made in collaboration and alignment with the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s) and require written parent/guardian consent prior to submission. This ensures mutual understanding, agreement, and shared support between the school district, family, and Phoenix Academy regarding the referral and review process.
